THE IMPACT OF ONLINE SHAMING ON MENTAL HEALTH

Has anyone ever shamed you online or made you feel bad? Maybe. But most youngsters of this era in this situation are constantly caught up in the role of being the shamer or being the victim.

Good evening, today, I wanted to talk about a topic that is quite the concern: the impact of online shaming on mental health. We all use social media, not me, though, but sometimes, people use it to comment mean things about others. That is called online shaming. When someone is shamed online, it can make them feel really bad. They might feel sad, scared, or even angry. Reading these kind of hurtful comments leads to anxiety and depression. It’s like bullying, but it happens on the internet, where everyone and anyone from the world can see it.

Online shaming doesn't just hurt one person; it can hurt their family and friends too. It’s important for us to be kind online, just like we would be in person. Instead of joining in on this kind of shaming, we should support each other and stand up for those who are being hurt.

We can make the internet a better place by being nice and respecting each other. Remember, our words have power, so let’s use them to build each other up, not tear each other down.

Well, thank you for listening.
