The Idea Of City-Wide Rooftop Gardens

Think about it, it’s a hot Sunday evening in the city. But instead of getting annoyed by the horns and calls of your colleagues, you’re standing on the top floor of the company building surrounded by hydrangeas, roses and butterflies. You are enjoying the breezes that is hitting your face. And below you? A scenery, not of steel and smoke, but of rooftops on top of buildings that stretch as far as the eye of a human can see. This is what we call a CITY WIDE ROOFTOP GARDENS. And this is not a joke, not an imagination nor a fantasy, it’s a reality that we can fabricate.

But why now? Because of the challenges. Everything has its pros and cons. If you take the pro of developing the city, then the con of pollution and climate change comes. So, to eliminate it, we use city wide rooftop gardens. It’s not hard to make one. Just go to your rooftops, plant some soil, and grow some plants. Sounds easy enough.

And, it is also said that plants are natural coolers, as they give shade and cool the air by transpiration. Plus, it also absorbs CO2 and harmful gases, reducing pollution. That is also the reason, why forests are known as the carbon sinks of our earth. And the inspiration of this idea comes from forests only. Since forests are declining, why not create it in places where it is unable to decline in only. Creative, isn’t it?

And plus, it would be also great place to hang out with your friends in the cool wind that might be coming in your direction.

So, let’s trade our boring rooftops for a newer, greener, and cooler dream. Let’s create city-wide rooftop gardens and recreate forests into our own environment, with a little bit of fun.
