MIND : A Beautiful Master or A Dangerous Servant

     1.   Light or dark, we have both.
But it is our choice, which we hold.

Should I go out? Should I smoke and drink like my friends are doing? No, that’s bad stuff. It kills you. So, should I start studying, but it’s boring and what if I’m not able to do anything at all? What if I daydream again, like always? It’s futile to think about. Let me just go to sleep and not worry about all this stuff.

2.   The mind has a mind of its own.
It is our decision if we let it control.

We all have heard of the brain. It is a system of nerves that control every tiny action taking place in our body, let it be a blink or a wink. But, it gives us choices on what to do, just like how a waiter asks you what you would like to eat, because it is always unsure and asks the master, you, for permission. So, let me ask this: if you have heard of the brain, you must have heard of the mind. If so, let me tell you this very clearly: the brain doesn’t ask anything of you; the mind does. Why? Because it has to clear its doubts, before giving the command to your subconsciousness, the most powerful of them all. The one that controls half your fate’s pathway.

3.   The mind of man is capable of anything.
To rise in light or drown in sin.

The mind is controlled by us, and it is our choice if we hand it control or not. What you give power to is power over you. And, it is then, the mind’s choice if it would lead you to success, like Albert Einstein, who used his wisdom to bring about so many theories, or kill you before it, like Adolf Hitler, who even though a good man through principles, still was killed due to his cruelty. It shows how a man can stay or break. And this is true for each and every man that God has created.

4.   You either control your mind,
Orit controls how you shine.

The mind is perhaps one of the most powerful tools given to humanity, and using it wisely can improve man by leaps and bounds. So, with passion, dedication, and a lot of trust, you can become the best businessman the world has seen, making it your master, your beautiful master. On the other hand, though, it can be the worst of servants, since it would be able to control us, if we give it control over us, which we often do. And, it leads to anxiety, depression, fear, overthinking and whatnot. And, in that chaos, it is quite important to be calm and collected rather than broken and distorted.

5.   The mind is its own place.
It can make a Heaven out of Hell,
or a Hell out of Heaven.

I’ve talked about the mind. I’ve given all the problems and questions. But, where are the solutions? Well, my friend, let’s have a look at them. I say that the mind has both incredible potential and dangerous tendencies, but it is crucial to find the balance. Something that would neutralise both sides, rather than wage a war. The mind, like fire, can warm us when controlled or burn us when left unchecked. It is neither purely a beautiful master nor a dangerous servant. So, developing self-awareness, practising mindfulness, focusing on personal growth, and having more conscious control over the mind are all ways to help us grow. So, from today, I beg of you a single request, only to tend to this fire, if you are ready to burn up in flames and turn into a soaring phoenix, to strive to be better, even when distractions are flooding your alley. Only then would you be ready to choose whether to let or to not let.

Always begin with the end in mind.

Thank you.
